Dr. Armen Agacanyan’s Background

At age 2, Dr. Armen and his family moved here as Armenian immigrants from Turkey. His first two languages were Armenian and Turkish. A family friend who is a Chiropractor introduced him to Chiropractic. After dealing with incessant headaches, neck and lower back pain following an automobile collision in addition to martial arts trauma, Dr. Armen could not get through his weeks in college without taking pain relievers at least every other day. Following only a few weeks of care, Armen’s headaches and pains almost completely ceased. Experiencing these remarkable results encouraged Armen to forego going to Dental school and instead pursue Chiropractic as a lifelong profession and passion. He had learned that given the proper circumstances and a healthy environment, the body has an amazing, intrinsic ability to help itself heal and properly function.

Education

After 4 years at Santa Clara University as a pre-med/ Combined Sciences major, Dr. Armen received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1999. He graduated Cum Laude from Palmer West College of Chiropractic in 2003. He later became certified as a chiropractic sports physician (CCSP), received his diplomate in rehabilitation (DACRB) and recently completed his Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. During his final year in Chiropractic school, he began working with Dr. Matt and Mike Janzen (Chiropractors for Ultimate Fighting Champions, professional athletes/tri-athletes and Olympic medalists) and completed his preceptorship with Dr. John McDaniel (head of the Diplomate program in Chiropractic Sports Orthopedics and team doctor for many Mountain View schools) at Spinal and Sports Care Center in Mountain View. Working with the Janzens and Dr. McDaniel helped Dr. Armen hone his clinical Chiropractic and sports injury treatment and rehabilitation expertise.
