Shockwave therapy is one of my favorite tools for chronic pain because it addresses the real problem, stalled healing. Many long-standing injuries aren’t weak or damaged beyond repair; they simply aren’t getting enough blood flow and biological stimulus to heal. Shockwave uses focused acoustic waves to increase circulation, stimulate tissue regeneration, and reset pain signaling in stubborn areas.
The condition I see shockwave help most consistently is plantar fasciitis. Heel pain lingers because the tissue has poor blood supply, which makes rest, stretching, or even injections fall short. Shockwave directly improves blood flow and tissue quality, often leading to faster pain reduction and a return to normal walking and activity without surgery.
Shockwave also works extremely well for tennis elbow, achilles tendon pain, jumper’s knee, and calcific shoulder/rotator cuff tendinopathy, conditions where tissue has become degenerative rather than inflamed. At Active Spinal, we combine shockwave with hands-on care and corrective movement so the tissue heals properly and stays healthy long term. If pain has been holding you back longer than it should, it may be time for a different approach.
